( Rinnai ) Rinnai Dryer Product Design

We provided product design supervision for the new model of Rinnai’s gas clothes dryer, Kanta-kun. Following our work on the remote control system and the Leggiero waterless cooking pot, the project offered another opportunity to reconsider what shitsujitsu-gōken—Rinnai’s enduring philosophy of integrity, simplicity, and uncompromising craftsmanship—means in contemporary product design, while reinforcing a consistent design direction across the brand.Working closely with Rinnai’s in-house design team, we reviewed and directed design proposals and material selections through the lens of the brand’s philosophy and aesthetic principles. As the idea of shitsujitsu-gōken had already become deeply shared within the team through our previous collaborations, the project required no major shifts in direction. The result is a product that naturally embodies Rinnai’s design philosophy with clarity, restraint, and consistency.
