A Digital Experience Connecting Place and Brand
For the Rinnai Aoyama website, we led the information architecture, prototyping, and art direction, bringing together a wide range of content—from the space and products to events and editorial stories—into a single, coherent brand experience. To translate the philosophy of Rinnai Aoyama and its broader brand world into the digital space, we carefully structured the content and user journeys while building upon Rinnai’s established brand identity. In collaboration with ium on design and front-end development, we created a refined digital experience appropriate to Aoyama—balancing the brand’s philosophy with clarity and functionality.
For the Rinnai Aoyama website, we led the overall concept development, prototyping, and art direction, bringing together a wide range of information—from the philosophy and architecture of the space to products, visitor experiences, events, and editorial stories—into a single, coherent brand experience. Rinnai Aoyama was conceived not only as a showroom where people can discover and experience Rinnai products, but also as a place for people to gather, connect, and explore new ways of living and culture. The website therefore needed to communicate the philosophy and world of the space while seamlessly connecting multiple experiences with different purposes: discovering products, understanding the architecture, exploring events and journal stories, and planning a visit.
We began by structuring the information that defines Rinnai Aoyama, together with the content that will continue to grow over time. Through prototyping, we developed the site architecture, user journeys, information hierarchy, and the relationship between imagery and text. Guided by the central concept of “Heat and Transition,” we designed a digital experience in which architecture, space, products, people, and cultural activities are presented not as separate elements, but as parts of an interconnected whole. While maintaining continuity with Rinnai’s broader brand identity, we pursued a quiet and refined expression appropriate to both Aoyama and the architectural character of the space. Working closely with ium on design and front-end development, Patmos led the overall art direction, carefully considering every detail—from typography and layout to photography, motion, and interaction.
The result is a website that serves both as a brand medium for communicating the philosophy of Rinnai Aoyama and as a functional platform connecting people to products, experiences, and visits. Designed to evolve alongside the space itself, it provides a framework through which the activities, stories, and culture of Rinnai Aoyama can continue to accumulate and grow over time.
